Links Fore the Cure is a Knoxville tradition that helps raise awareness and resources for breast cancer education, screening, patient care and research. The tournament originated in 1999 and has undergone a few name changes over the years but the mission of the tournament remains the same. In 2007, the Links Fore the Cure and Cruisin' For A Cause came together to form a new fundraising organization, Champions For A Cause.
Links is actually two great events. October 18 beginning at 5:30 p.m. is our Sunday Night Casino including 5 different games, complimentary food and drinks and fantastic auction items featuring golf merchandise, travel packages and much more. The casino event is open to the public but is limited to the first 250 participants. Monday's event (October 19) is the women's scramble golf tournament with a 9:30 a.m. shotgun start. This tournament is the premier women’s golf event in Knoxville and always fills up quickly so it’s important to register early.
Links supports the non-profit 501-(c)3 Champions For A Cause. The money raised through these events supports efforts such as the University of Tennessee Breast Health Outreach Program, Kay Yow/WBCA Cancer Fund, and The Wellness Community of East Tennessee.
